Just yesterday Ubisoft Massive promised more details on The Division mobile game in the “very near future” and today they followed through with the reveal of The Division Resurgence. The free-to-play shooter will be arriving on Android and iOS with a story that puts a new perspective on the key events from The Division and The Division 2.
What we know about The Division Resurgence mobile game
The Division Resurgence is a AAA free-to-play third-person shooter due to be released on iOS and Android. Players assume the role of Strategic Homeland Division (SHD) Agents who were among the first to deploy to New York City after the outbreak of a viral pandemic. The game will tell a new story that fits into the existing The Division canon, therefore it will expand upon the events of The Division and The Division 2.
The game can be played in single-player or in co-op. New class roles will feature loadouts with new specializations and unique signature weapons and gadgets. Loadouts can be customized as players progress through their missions, including with equipment that has been looted or crafted, modded, and upgraded. The streets of New York will be patroled by different enemy factions and new villains that will engage players in block-by-block battles using controls and a UI tailored to mobile users. Ubisoft Massive promises the game will be released “soon,” but those wanting to try it out before the official launch can sign up to take part in a series of live tests including a closed alpha.
