When Will I Get My Overwatch 2 Beta Invite?

Some fans might be wondering to themselves “When will I get my Overwatch 2 beta invite?” after not receiving one at the start of the event on June 28 despite having signed up for it well beforehand. As this beta marks the first time that console owners will be able to try the Overwatch 2 PvP beta (the first one was only for PC owners), this is understandably frustrating. But don’t fret if you haven’t gotten an email or notification for the beta yet. Blizzard is likely doing this intentionally and you’ll receive an invite eventually within the next two weeks if everything goes smoothly.

When will I receive an Overwatch 2 beta invite email?

Overwatch 2 Beta Invite

You will receive the Overwatch 2 beta invite on July 14 at the latest. As explained on the official website for this second testing phase, the purpose for this particular beta is to stress-test the cross-play capabilities and console performance of the game. As such, they are starting off with a smaller pool of players starting on June 28 before gradually adding more and more entrants as they ramp up capacity. They are carefully selecting players “based in part on their platform choice” and so they are tracking player platform preferences during sign-ups.

Blizzard hopes that the first wave of new players (and thereby new invites) will be on July 5. It is their goal, however, “to provide access to ALL players that opt-in to the beta by no later than July 14.” It is unclear if there will be more waves between July 5 and July 14, but at the very least you will only need to wait a little over two weeks before getting into the beta. There’s no word on when this second PvP beta will end, but let’s hope all players get at least a month to play the game.

Also note, if you’re on PC, that you had to explicitly sign up for this second beta test even if you were able to get into the first one.
