We’re still waiting for Microsoft to announce the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass this month, but the Game Pass app has already revealed those that will be leaving the service in April 2022. Six games are due to leave Xbox Game Pass before April 18, including MLB The Show 21.
What’s leaving Xbox Game Pass in April?
The departures begin on April 11 with Destiny 2: Beyond Light, Shadowkeep, and Forsaken all leaving Xbox Game Pass on PC. Forsaken was already partially vaulted in February, but it sounds like the remaining Dreaming City destination and endgame content will now be removed from Game Pass too. Other Destiny 2 expansions will remain on PC beyond this date.
The majority of the games will leave Xbox Game Pass on April 16. MLB The Show 21 will leave Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, which isn’t surprising bearing in mind MLB The Show 22 will be launching on Xbox Game Pass tomorrow, April 5. The Long Dark and Rain on Your Parade will both be removed on consoles and PC, while Pathway will leave Xbox Game Pass for PC too. Finally, F1 2019 is the final game to be leaving Xbox Game Pass in April 2022. This will be removed from EA Play on April 18, therefore it will no longer be available through Xbox Game Pass either.
If Microsoft follows its usual schedule, we can expect to hear about upcoming Xbox Game Pass games tomorrow. As mentioned earlier, MLB The Show 22 will enter Game Pass tomorrow, while Chinatown Detective Agency will launch on April 7, but others remain a mystery for now.
In other news, Lucasfilm Games and Devolver Digital revealed a reboot of Return to Monkey Island, a game that Ron Gilbert has managed to keep hidden from the world for two years. Platforms have not yet been announced. Elsewhere, Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.1 will be arriving later this month and will bring new dungeons, a new Trial, and an Alliance Raid for 24 players.
