How many episodes will Jojo Stone Ocean have?

The first batch of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean has been released on Netflix, and fans are wondering how many episodes it’ll be in total. We only got 12 to sate us for now, and we’ve already made it through quite a bit of story. We’ll take a look at how many episodes Jojo Stone Ocean will be below.

Netflix hasn’t revealed how many episodes Jojo Stone Ocean will get, but we think it’ll be 39. The last two seasons, Diamond is Unbreakable and Golden Wind, both got 39, so that seems like the magic number for animator David Production. The Stone Ocean manga also has the same amount of volumes as Golden Wind and one less than Diamond is Unbreakable, so having the same amount of episodes of the anime would make sense.

The first 12 episodes of Jojo Stone Ocean take us through the first five volumes of the manga and part of the way through the sixth. So far we’ve completed the following arcs from the manga:

  • Stone Ocean
  • Prisoner FE40536: Jolyne Cujoh
  • Stone Free
  • The Visitor
  • Ermes’ Sticker
  • There’s Six of Them!
  • Foo Fighters
  • Marilyn Mansion: The Debt Collector
  • Savage Garden Strategy
  • Flash Flood Warning

At the conclusion of the first cour of episodes, Jolyne has reclaimed Jotaro’s Stand Disc and manages to reach the prison courtyard where the pigeon Savage Garden picks it up. But, unfortunately, she is yet to discern who her true foe is and still needs to find Jotaro’s Memory Disc to save her father.

The next cour will open on the Kiss of Love & Revenge arc, which is where things start getting really weird. The series has sped through the first six volumes, but we expect to see things slow down a bit when the next episodes are released.
