The Pokemon Go community is constantly looking for new ways to play the game. Last month, a Pokemon Go mod found a way to tweak the walking mechanic, so you didn’t have to put in the physical effort to catch Pokemon and battle gyms. A new mod has cropped up in recent days that not only breaks the microtransaction system, but hacks into Rocket Radars.
What is the Pokemon Go mod?
The Pokemon Go mod makes all the game’s in-built microtransactions free, and they grant you unlimited Rocket Radars. If you’re familiar with Pokemon Go, you’ll know that these are pretty big hacks, that’ll easily impact the game’s balance.
Firstly, the ability to get microtransactions for free is a significant cheat. These are available in-game to purchase everything from Remote Raid Passes to Incenses, which lure more Pokemon to your location. If you can get into any raid without paying anything, or can catch new Pokemon all the time, then you’re bound to get an advantage over your rivals.
The Rocket Radar hack is less impactful on the game’s balance, but still gives you access to much more XP. Usually, you have to defeat five Team Rocket Grunts to get a Super Radar, which lets you fight a leader. If you’ve got unlimited Super Radars, then all your battles will be against more prestigious opponents – who’ll grant you more XP and better rewards if you win.
Therefore, we must stress that we do not endorse the use of Pokemon Go hacks. Not only are they unfair on other players, but they’re potentially in breach of Niantic’s Terms of Service. If you’re found using hacks in the game, they could very easily close down your account for good. It’s not a risk worth taking – and mods like these miss the essence of why Pokemon Go is so fun to begin with.
In other Pokemon news, a new Unite datamine might’ve revealed what skins are coming to the game soon. A range of LEGO Disney Plus Marvel figures are also on their way, covering shows like Loki and WandaVision.
