FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward How to Unlock Astrologian, Dark Knight and Machinist Jobs in Heavensward

Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward is out, and many players are looking to try out one of the new jobs. With three available, there’s something for everyone, whether they want to tank as a Dark Knight, deal damage as a Machinist, or support others as Astrologian. However, many players are having trouble identifying how to unlock these three jobs. Below we will go over how to do so.

First, you must meet the following requirements to be eligible to unlock one of these jobs:

  • 1. You must have at least one job at level 50.
  • 2. You must have completed all A Realm Reborn missions from 2.0 to 2.55.
  • 3. You must own the Heavensward expansion.

Once you have met the requirements above, head to the following locations to speak to an NPC and unlock the corresponding job.

Astrologian: Ishgard, The Pillars (X:15 Y:10) – Jannequinard

Dark Knight: Ishgard, The Pillars (X:13 Y:8) – Ishgardian Citizen

Machinist: Ishgard, Foundation (X:8 Y:10) – Stephanivien

Please note that these NPCs do not show up on the map, but do have a quest icon above their heads. You need to look for them by name and speak to them to begin unlocking the jobs. Additionally, you will need to complete a main scenario mission in Coerthas before being sent to Ishgard, and only then can you unlock these jobs.
