Have enough fun in Cyberpunk 2077 and you may never want to leave. Night City can be an entrancing place, after all. But once the main campaign is over, what incentive do you have to work back through it? Does Cyberpunk 2077 have a new game plus mode, or are you stuck making the most of your first playthrough?
Does Cyberpunk 2077 have a new game plus mode?
No, Cyberpunk 2077 does not have a new game plus mode, at least not yet. However, the development team previously hinted that unlocking all of the game’s abilities would take multiple playthroughs. This means that a new game plus mode could arrive in a future update.
This omission is frankly a bit odd based on what we know about past CD Projekt Red games. After all, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt included a new game plus mode. Besides, NG+ is fairly commonplace when it comes to open-world RPGs, especially ones with branching paths or multiple endings.
Of course, Cyberpunk 2077 released not long ago, and the game has already received a few patches. While no new content has been included yet, it’s possible that some will be offered eventually. Considering that the game hasn’t formally launched for the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S yet, it may be that CDPR is simply waiting for the current-generation releases before giving players a way to start over again.
Still, it isn’t like there’s not much to do or see. The main campaign should take players between 30 to 40 hours to complete, and that’s assuming they don’t dive into side missions. Earning 100 percent completion could easily double that number.
For now, Cyberpunk 2077 does not have a new game plus mode. Your best bet is to make sure you do everything you can before you reach the game’s conclusion. Otherwise, CD Projekt Red may introduce new game plus in a future patch. Only time will tell.
