Given the release of the poorly received Little Hope, it is natural to wonder what the next Dark Pictures Anthology game would be. It’s unlikely there would be just two entries, after all. Thankfully, Little Hope contains a tease of what that next Dark Pictures game is going to be and it’s called House of Ashes.
What’s the next Dark Pictures Anthology game?
House of Ashes is the next Dark Pictures game. And it could even be the last, as hinted at by the Curator near the end of Little Hope. Its release window is sometime in 2021. No more specific release date or month was given.
There are a few teasers of this game hidden within Little Hope. The first one is in the last section of the game. After getting into the burned-down house, walk forward a few steps. There will be an examinable object on the table, as shown in the above picture. It’s a postcard with a witch on it. Flip it over and a short premonition of a woman falling in a cave will play. Given the setting and perceived premise, it is not completely unlike the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy or The Descent horror film franchise.
The second hint is much less subtle as it is a full trailer. However, this one is more missable because all of the characters need to make it out alive in order for the trailer to play. If everyone survives the night, a full trailer for House of Ashes will play at the end after the credits. Thankfully, players can skip the credit after the first song plays.
This trailer shows an unnamed character going into a desert-like place as some sort of soldier. After some characters shoot into the darkness, she reappears, wading through a murky liquid inside of a cave surrounded by different statues. Something startles her and then she turns when the trailer cuts to the title.
