Can You Pet the Paper Mario: The Origami King Chain Chomp good girl

Yes, you can pet the Chain Chomp in Paper Mario: The Origami King

Can you pet the Chain Chomp in Paper Mario: The Origami King?If you’re a fan of these adorable little murder balls, you’ll be happy to hear that you can indeed pet the toothy villain.

The delightfully wholesome announcement was made today on Nintendo Europe’s Twitter. The tweet included a short video showing Mario and his Bob-Omb companion Bobby standing next to a chain chomp with an origami villager petting it and showering the Chain Chomp with praise.

This might seem like a bit of a strange thing to highlight, but the last year has seen a surge of people curious about the incredibly important gameplay feature of petting dogs. The Twitter account @CanYouPetTheDog has been chronicling which games do and do not let you pet the dog since March of 2019.

New details about this upcoming Paper Mario game were revealed less than a month ago including how the game’s weapon system will work, but we now know the most important gameplay detail of them all. You’ll be able to pet the Paper Mario: The Origami King Chain Chomp when it launches for Nintendo Switch on July 17, 2020. For now, you can pre-order the game on Amazon or the Nintendo eShop for $59.99 or your regional equivalent.
