Good news for people looking to get a lot of mileage out of their games, as there’s going to be a good chunk of Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC. These Animal Crossing: New Horizons free updates will let players experience their island in a new way… although there’s also a bit of a downside.
Previously, events in Animal Crossing games took place on real-world days. Now, these same in-game events are going to be treated more like an online game, as this Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC will arrive at different days throughout the year.

What is the Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC revealed so far?
- Fishing tourneys
- Bug-offs
- Bunny Day
- Special offers for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Animal Crossing Amiibo support
Each of these in-game events may have special visitors that arrive only for that event, bringing even more fun to your town!
The first piece of Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC that will be available is Bunny Day, the game’s equivalent of Easter. This particular update will be available for download on the game’s launch day of March 20, 2020, although it appears that the event itself won’t actually take place until sometime later in April.
Nintendo promises for there to be some pretty cool events throughout the year, but this Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC system also has a bit of a downside, as you’ll have to actually wait for events to arrive on time in this new game.
Older Animal Crossing games also had events based on real-world days. However, this was on the Nintendo 3DS and it was terribly easy for someone to tinker with the system clock. This would let players have an event pretty much whenever they felt like it. This new online integration means that that will likely no longer be possible.
Aside from this one downside, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is shaping up to be a pretty great game! You’ll be able to get it on March 20, 2020, and you can check out the newest Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Direct below for more details.
