When you first start up Destiny 2 after the Shadowkeep update, you’ll automatically be given a finishing move. The finisher you’re given depends on which class you are. For example, Titans are given The Focused Fist as their finisher. The game quickly explains how to use finishers, but it’s easy to miss.

Luckily, using finishers is rather simple. When a golden circle appears above an enemy’s head, that means it’s ready for a finisher. You can easily tell when you’re in-range to perform a finisher on these enemies when they glow with a pulsing golden light. There’s no cooldown on finishers, so you can use them as often as you see enemies glowing. To get an enemy to this point, you’ll have to damage it first. Getting an enemy into the finishable health range appears to be based on their level relative to yours, so low-level enemies will start glowing fairly quickly. Even low-level enemies can’t be finished off if their health is full, however, so they’ll always have to take at least some damage before you can perform a finisher.
