The Mortal Kombat series is known for its brutality as much as it is for its secrets, and now there is a new one for players to discover. Or in fact, several secrets to discover, as the new Mortal Kombat 11 A.I. brutalities puzzling some players.
Recently, developer NetherRealm released an update adding an additional brutality victory pose for every character, as well as new brutalities for a few of them: Johnny Cage, Kung Lao, Shao Kahn, Kabal, Baraka, Sub-Zero, and Noob Saibot just to name a few. The tricky bit is that these brutalities are only being performed by the Mortal Kombat 11 A.I.-controlled characters . This is because actual players are stuck guessing if they need to figure out the criteria for each of brutality or if they need to be unlock them first. Both types of brutalities have been added in previous patches. However, given that only the A.I. can do these certain brutalities, it’s likely that players have to earn these ones through certain online towers that haven’t cycled through.

For now, since it doesn’t seem like you can perform these without the necessary unlock, all that you can do is watch the new brutalities below thanks to a video by Nick and Autumn (via Eurogamer) and try to discover how they are executed.
Like fatalities (which you can read our guide on here), brutalities must be unlocked by different means before you can use them, such as finding them somewhere in the game like the Krypt or the Towers of Time. However, players also need to hit certain conditions such as being below a certain health percentage while also finishing the match with a certain move. Obviously, these aren’t easy to pull off if you don’t know what you are doing or if you are in the middle of a tough competitive match. These requirements are what makes brutalities beloved within the community as they are usually more difficult to pull off than a fatality.
