Ghost Recon Breakpoint is the eagerly-anticipated next game in the popular Ghost Recon series, and is the direct sequel to Ghost Recon Wildlands. As such players can expect a massive area to explore and co-op in, with a huge range of missions and challenges to undertake. But what about a Ghost Recon Breakpoint battle royale mode? Every game, from Battlefield 5, Fallout 76, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, seems to be introducing the popular mode in order to compete with Fortnite and Apex Legends, so will Breakpoint too? Let’s have a look.
Will there be a Ghost Recon Breakpoint battle royale mode?
With every online multiplayer game these days trying to ape (or leech) the success of Fortnite by having a battle royale mode of their own, it surely seems inevitable that Ghost Recon Breakpoint will have one too. However, as of right now Ubisoft has said that PvP in Breakpoint will only be 4v4, just like Wildlands, but the studio may consider adding a battle royale mode later on.

Will Ghost Recon Wildlands Mercenaries mode come to Breakpoint?
While Breakpoint will not launch with an official battle royale mode, what about Mercenaries mode? This new mode was recently added to Ghost Recon Wildlands in the July update, and while it’s not pure battle royale, it’s certainly close. It’s also still only eight players, and features a smaller map with NPC enemies, but the idea is basically battle royale: scavenge for gear and weapons, fight to survive, get to certain points on the map, and then head to a final extraction point where you compete to become the last person standing.
While it certainly hasn’t been confirmed that Wildlands‘ new battle royale-like Mercenaries mode will come to Breakpoint too, there is no reason to assume it won’t. The previous content update for Wildlands introduced the villain of Breakpoint, so it’s probable Ubisoft wouldn’t introduce a whole new mode so late into Wildlands and so close to Breakpoint if it wasn’t planning for the mode to appear in the latter. We’ll see.
