Nintendo Scares Innocent Children All For A Monkey’s Amusement [Update: DK Strikes Again]

I've played Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. I even wrote about how awesome the new items and levels are in my review, but apparently I missed the part where Donkey Kong breaks through a wall and scares the crap out of you, resulting in a lost life.

Thankfully, I was playing in the comfort of my own home and not at the Santa Monica pier where a recent Nintendo event let fans get up close and personal with Mario's old nemesis. Not nice Nintendo! Those kids only wanted to enjoy a minecart or vine ride in glasses-free 3D, but I guess a picture with DK and his red tie made everything all better.

But, c'mon. I mean when I jump out and scare children, no one buys my game. What the hell?

[Update:] From the pier to the LA Zoo, when will DK's Los Angeles romp end?
