It seems that some information about Gearbox Software’s upcoming looter shooter Borderlands 3 may have been accidentally released. Wario64 has pointed out on Twitter a couple of tweets with information about the game that were immediately taken down.
The first of these tweets reveals none other than the game’s release date. The now deleted tweet from the game’s official Twitter account reveals that the game is set to come out on September 13.
Considering the date, there is the possibility that this may be an April Fools joke by Wario64. However, an archive of the deleted tweet can be found in the Internet Wayback Machine, proving its authenticity.
In addition to the release date, the tweet also reveals the existence of a “Gold Weapon Skins Pack” as an incentive for players who pre-order the game.
Now the release date isn’t the only information that was inadvertently released for the game. Wario64 also shared a copy of a pulled Twitter video ad that seems to confirm that Borderlands 3 will be coming to the Epic Games Store. Specifically, the video ad has displays the logo for the Epic Games Store on it.

Surprisingly enough, the Epic Games Store logo is the only logo, aside from the Gearbox and 2K Games logos, to be featured in the video. This could be a further hint that the game may be coming exclusively to Epic’s new platform on PC.
Prior to this, Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford tweeted about his support of the Epic Games Store. However, some gamers may not be in favor of this, and have already voiced their concerns about it to Pitchford. Additionally, other games, such as Metro Exodus becoming Epic Games Store exclusives have also caused some controversy among gamers. The fact that the video ad was pulled may hint that any exclusivity deal may not yet be final for Borderlands 3.
