First Mortal Kombat DLC Coming This Month

The team at NetherRealm Studios will be supporting Mortal Kombat with downloadable content and characters long after the game's release, or "as long as people are still playing". While details of the first DLC content were revealed some time ago, there was no ETA to speak of. Until now.

During this past weekend's PDP Mortal Kombat National Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon was on-hand speaking with competitors and members of the press. There he talked briefly about the game, in particular, the current plans for DLC.

Boon mentioned that the first DLC character, Skarlett, will be arriving some time this month. He also said that there would be some "free stuff", which we speculate could be alternate costumes or additional levels. Anything, really.

Over the weekend PDP, manufacturer of the official Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition Fight Stick, held a National Tournament for Mortal Kombat fans, offering a total of $21,000 in prizes. The grand prize winner took home $10,000.

I really should have entered…
