Jacqui Briggs has been revealed for Mortal Kombat 11. The latest character to be revealed for NetherRealm Studios’ upcoming fighting game, she debuted in 2015’s Mortal Kombat X. In Mortal Kombat 11 Jacqui Briggs has an updated design aesthetic.
Mortal Kombat 11 Jacqui Briggs was confirmed earlier today by NetherRealm Studios on the official Mortal Kombat twitter. She appeared in the game’s story trailer released earlier this week, where at least one fatality she performs was on display. Her existence in the game was leaked last week alongside Erron Black and most of the game’s cast. NetherRealm has confirmed she will be in the game, giving more credence to last week’s leaks.
Jacqui Briggs was introduced in Mortal Kombat X as the daughter of Jax and close friend of Cassie Cage, who was revealed yesterday. She joined the Special Forces alongside Cassie Cage, doing so as she felt it she had to protect Earthrealm. She wants to avenge her father’s suffering at the hands of Quan Chi and Ermac. Mortal Kombat 11 Jacqui Briggs updated her look significantly, moving away from a clean-cut military look in camo top to form-fitting battle armor. Jacqui’s powerered gauntlets now have a blue aura around them, and appear more “high-tech.” Her armor falls more in line with that of Cassie Cage’s new Mortal Kombat 11 look.
Fans online are already debating her new look, and whether or not she even looks like her MKX appearance. Jacqui gameplay has yet to be revealed, with only small snippets of her story interactions seen in yesterday’s trailer. Expect a full reveal of the character’s gameplay in the coming weeks.
Mortal Kombat 11‘s roster still has a number of spots to fill out, although many have already been rumored or leaked. Kitana, Kung Lao, Frost, Kotal Kahn, and The Collector are all strongly rumored characters and are sure bets for the game’s roster. A number of other characters have been suggested including Noob Saibot, Rain, Kronika, Smoke, and Jax.
Mortal Kombat 11 releases on April 23, 2019, on the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
