Battlefield 4 Details Leak, Appears To Be Next-Gen With New Engine

More explosions. More realism. More awesome.

Details have emerged from GDC which state that Battlefield 4 will utilize a new Frostbite engine, labeled version 3.0. It will bring much improved shaders and effects, new animations, weather particles, and more realistic destructive environments. Given that Battlefield 3 pushed the limits of current hardware, and posters at GDC show a release date of Fall 2013, it's realistic to think that the next title will support the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's next Xbox.

Battlefield 4 hasn't been "officially" announced, but is expected to be shown in a theater hall later today. Stay tuned for the full scoop!
