There are a lot of weapons in Fallout 76, and some are more useful than others. Through crafting or exploring the wasteland you can pick up some truly interesting firearms, including a bunch of weird Exotic Weapons, such as the famous Alien Blaster. Another one of these Exotic Weapons is the Fallout 76 Radium Rifle, but its use isn’t immediately obvious. What is the Radium Rifle, and where is it most effective? We’ve got the answers.
How to Get the Fallout 76 Radium Rifle
Unlike many other Exotic Weapons in the game, the Radium Rifle cannot be picked up from anywhere in the world, either just lying around or on an enemy. You can purchase the special rifle from vendors, or you pick up plans from a vendor and you can craft it yourself. You’ll need Adhesive, Circuitry, Nuclear Material, Screws, Springs, Steel, and Wood in various quantities (depending on the weapon level). You’ll also need a find a Weapons workbench, either at your camp or around the wasteland, and have the Gunsmith Perk at maximum rank, level 5. Here are its starting statistics:
- Type: Rifle
- Damage: 30
- Fire Rate: 40
- Range: 120
- Accuracy: 57
- Weight: 11.9
- Value: 89
How is the Fallout 76 Radium Rifle Useful?
What makes the Radium Rifle unique is that every rifle bullet it shoots deals ballistic damage and also irradiates your victim. While the weapon is useless against anything with radiation immunity, like Deathclaws, it works a treat against human opponents in PvP. PvP is where the Radium Rifle shines, since not only does it damage your enemies, the radiation stops them from healing completely, so their health will always take a knock and they’ll be forced to waste RadAways. Most useful.
You can upgrade the Radium Rifle with various mods, including receiver, barrel, stock, magazine, sights, and muzzle. An automatic receiver works particularly well with it, increasing the damage and rate of fire.
