Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 Remaster

Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 Remaster Details Revealed

Microids has revealed the details about its upcoming Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 remaster. Developed by OSome Studio, it will be a remastered version of 2006’s Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 Mission Las Vegum, which was originally released for the PS2 and PC. The action-adventure platformer is slated to be released for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and the Nintendo Switch on November 29, 2018.

The publisher revealed new details about the Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 remaster in a news post on the game’s official Steam page. First of all, it will feature enhanced graphics, with new textures, models, and even environmental lighting. It will also feature improved gameplay, which includes a new in-game store system where players can visit to obtain new techniques, combos, and Furies. Microids described this new mechanic as being similar to a traditional skill tree.

Besides that, the Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 remaster will be more accessible, thanks to the addition of three difficulty levels and a new fast travel system. Gamers who like challenges will be glad to learn that bonus missions will be added to the game. These challenges will focus on fighting, which will require players to defeat as many Romans as possible within a time limit. Different ranks can be obtainable in these challenges. Additionally, collectible postcards will be hidden throughout the game, encouraging players to explore every nook and cranny in the game’s world.

Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 stars the protagonists from the French comic book Asterix, or The Adventures of Asterix. The game follows Asterix and Obelix as they travel to Las Vegum in Rome to investigate the disappearance of the druid Getafix. The most recent video game adaptation of the franchise was previously 2007’s Asterix at the Olympic Games, which was initially released for the Nintendo Wii, PS2, Xbox 360, PC, and Nintendo DS.
