Four New DualShock 4 Controller Colors Release Next Month

In the market for a new DualShock 4 controller for your PS4? Sony just announced four new DualShock 4 controller colors. You’ll need to put up with your current controller for a while longer before taking the $64.99 plunge since these aren’t coming out until sometime in September.

Product Marketing Manager Steve Schwartz at Sony PlayStation revealed this news on the official PlayStation Blog earlier today. These new and colorful takes on the DualShock 4 will come in Berry Blue, Sunset Orange, Blue Camo, and Copper. This lineup proves that you can’t have a new set of controller or console colors without some kind of camouflage option.

Dubbed as “bright, playful and fun,” these words reserved for the Berry Blue controller easily apply to the Sunset Orange variant. Each of the four controllers feature their named color scheme on top, with a solid color underside and matching buttons for contrast. The “while supplies last” wording suggests these new options might not stick around forever.

These new DualShock 4 controller colors are set to release some time next month across the United States and Canada, but there’s no word of a wider release just yet. For North America, the Copper version specifically will be a timed exclusive release at GameStop, but it will make its way to other retailers further down the line. Expect a price of $64.99 in North America, and $74.99 in Canada for each option.

Each of the new DualShock 4 controller colors will follow the Dualshock 4 V2 spec sheet, making them virtually identical to every version of the pad released since mid-2016 alongside the PlayStation 4 Slim. This means both USB and wireless connectivity through the PlayStation 4 console, and the added light bar on the top of the touchpad.

These are the latest DualShock 4 controller variants to be released since the Midnight Blue and Steel Black options released across North America and Europe back in March. Steel Black was a returning favorite from the pre-PS4 Slim days.
