Rainbow Six Siege Maverick: Who is the New Operator?

There are a whole bunch of things that makes this Rainbow Six Siege Maverick reveal so exciting. Firstly, he’s a brand-new Operator. That’s a big deal. There’s also the fact that we’ve already got a teaser trailer and there’s even more to come very, very soon as a Maverick release date has been hinted at. To top it all off, his attacker style might just lend itself to spicing things up quite considerably in the multiplayer tactical shooter.

Rainbow Six Siege Maverick: Who is the New Operator?

Ubisoft has announced Maverick, a new attacker Operator for Rainbow Six Siege on Twitter with a 30-second teaser trailer (which you can watch below). So far, so very ordinary, though the Rainbow Six Blog clues us in a little more.

Maverick’s full name is Eric Thorn, and he is “known for his precise work and keen mind, yet he remains an enigma within Rainbow Six.” Par for the course then, really.

Rainbow Six Siege Maverick: New Operator Release Date

While we don’t have an exact release date for Maverick, we do have an idea of when we’ll find out. That’ll be the Six Major event in Paris, starting from today, August 16, until August 19. Watch this space.

Rainbow Six Siege Maverick: New Operator Playstyle

Here’s where things heat up. Literally. Maverick carries around with him a blowtorch, “one that can make holes in metal surfaces. On the field, he’s found multiple uses for it, including but not limited to making murder holes.”

That could be a real game-changer as far as online action is concerned. A more deliberate attacker, one who can cover several breach opportunities and make their own stealthy passages could be the difference between winning and losing a match. Here’s hoping he’s packed his flame guard.
