Fortnite Week 4 Challenges

Fortnite Outage Explained: Why is Fortnite Down?

There is a Fortnite Outage going on right now that is keeping players from playing any Battle Royale matches online. This is annoying as it affects all of the millions of players across the world that are attempting to jump online and get in a few matches, whether it’s alone or with your squad teammates.

The Fortnite Outage is surprising, as something so widespread and crazy like this has never happened to the game since its launch last year… at least not in this capacity or on this level. This is unfortunate because it prevents everyone from playing in any way possible. In fact, it even stops the player from enjoying the PvE content.

Fortnite Outage Explained: What is Happening?

Why is the Fortnite Outage happening? Well, this is happening because of some interesting reasons. The outage began yesterday and has continued into today. As of right now (upon publishing), it is still going on which is annoying for anyone that wants to play (including this author).

The Fortnite Outage actually eluded Epic Games at first to its cause, but the developer just recently gave an update on what could be happening right now. On Reddit, Epic Games has explained that it has found a potential cause behind the outage that is happening right now.

The cause for the Fortnite Outage seems to a critical account service failure that is preventing players from being able to access the game’s online services. This is unfortunate, and it is a widespread issue. But thankfully, Epic Games is already hard at work fixing it and the services should be back to normal in the next couple of hours.
