EA has announced the full 23-man roster and launch time for Winter Ones To Watch cards on FIFA 18 Ultimate Team.
The One To Watch cards, which will go live in packs from 6pm GMT/1pm EST, include soccer superstars that have moved in the January Transfer Window, and some of the best players across the Barclays Premier League, Bundesliga and Spain’s La Liga. Alexis Sanchez (now of Manchester United), FC Barcelona’s Phillipe Coutinho, and Arsenal’s record signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyeng all feature.
FIFA 18’s One To Watch cards are regular versions of each of the 23 players, but with the added bonus of the stars receiving stats boosts and upgrades should they get a Team of the Week, Man of the Match, Record Breaker, European Team of the Tournament or Hero cards.
For example, if Alexis Sanchez scores a hat-trick this weekend, and you’ve already purchased his One To Watch his 89-rated card, then you’ll gain his upgraded version should he make it into the next Wednesday’s Team of the Week. If you’re someone who is all about making it rain, OTW cards are an essential component for playing the market and, if the player gets their upgrade, making a serious profit.
The marquee names, released on EA’s Twitter feed, are as follows: Alexis Sanchez (Manchester United), Pierre-Emerick Aubamayeng (Arsenal), Phillipe Coutinho (Barcelona), Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Arsenal), Aymeric Laporte (Manchester City), Virgil Van Dijk (Liverpool), Lucas Moura (Tottenham Hotspur), Inigo Martinez (Athletic Bilbao), Michy Batshuayi (Borussia Dortmund), Theo Walcott (Everton).
The remaining OTW cards include: Joao Mario (West Ham United), Gerard Deulofeu (Watford), Ross Barkley (Chelsea), Paul-Georges Ntep (Saint-Etienne), Francis Coquelin (Valencia), Nicolas Tagliafico (Ajax), Cenk Tosun (Everton), Soualiho Meite (Bordeaux), Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscow), Khouma Babacar (Sassuolo), Jurgen Locadia (Brighton and Hove Albion), and Milot Rashica (Werder Bremen)
… and breathe. EA have clearly seen fit not to include any from the mighty Crystal Palace (for shame!) but it’s a fantastic list, with players that are sure to improve any Ultimate Team squad on FIFA 18. Get those fingers and thumbs ready for 6pm GMT/1pm EST and start buying up those packs; you never know who you might pull.
