GR Votes: What is the Best Sonic the Hedgehog Game?

Sonic Forces is out this week, which means that fans of the series are debating how the new 3D Sonic game compares to its predecessors. The general consensus is that while it doesn’t compare to this year’s fantastic Sonic Mania, it’s a lot better than the last 3D Sonic release, the shambolic Sonic Boom.

Sonic fans have it kinda rough compared to fans of other franchises, with the blue blur routinely being forced into underwhelming releases or downright embarrassing games such as Sonic ’06. But while many will talk at length about Sonic’s downfall, we’re here to talk about the very best Sonic the Hedgehog game.

Personally, I’m a fan of Sonic 2 and the recently released Sonic Mania, while the underrated spin-off Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed was also a favorite. While I’ve never quite understood the praise heaped upon Sonic Adventure and its sequel, I have enjoyed some of Sonic Team’s 3D output including Sonic Generation and Sonic Colors.

But now it’s time for you to decide. Click on the link below to vote in our poll, and the winner will be announced next Thursday.
