Minecraft Reaches Profitability Within First Hour of XBLA Launch

As if dominating PCs around the globe wasn't enough, Markus "Notch" Persson has gone on to take the Xbox 360 by storm, as his little known title Minecraft has already reached profitability on Microsoft's console. In fact, the game managed to achieve as much within the first hour. This dude is truly living out every developer's dream.

This news comes via a Tweet from the man himself (duh, it's pictured above) as he proudly touts the success of his revolutionary creation.

While I doubt anyone was suspecting the game would fail, I'm a bit surprised to see how well it is selling right off the bat, especially in lieu of the fact that the 360 version is a far inferior to its PC counterpart. Then again, the Xbox Live platform is alive and thriving like never before, so it looks like Notch's timing couldn't have been better.
