At the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Awards, two worlds collided in the form of Capcom's Seth Killian and NetherRealm Studios head and Mortal Kombat co-creator, Ed Boon.
It seems they got to talking, and one thing led to another. Now, there could be a violent, bloody love-child on the way.
Seth Killian tweeted after the show that he had a good time kicking back with Boon, and congratulated him on Mortal Kombat taking home an award. To which Boon replied:
Yes, great catching up with you too. Looking forward to our first MKvsSF meeting. 1st order of business: MKvsSF or SFvsMK. 😉
Boon has always been one to joke and tease, and there's always the possibility that the two sides can't come to agreement. Then there's the parent company and licensing mumbo jumbo nonsense that always seems to get in the way of progress. But damn… would that just be fucking great if my two favorite fighting franchises went head-to-head?
Tell GR: Would you rather see it as MK x SF or SF x MK? Meaning, which engine would you prefer it to be based on? And which franchise do you see coming out on top here? I'm sure you know which my vote goes to.
