Black Friday Sales Yield Almost a Million Xbox 360s Sold

The Xbox 360 has had a great year in the US. Each month, the Xbox 360 is the front-runner in consoles sold, with competitors Wii and PS3 struggling to keep pace. This trend has proven stronger than ever during this past week, mainly due to Black Friday deals and sales.

Microsoft has issued a statement that 960,000 Xbox 360 consoles were sold last week. Holy shit. 800,000 of them were sold on Black Friday alone. Holy shit! 

The surge has been since last November when Microsoft release the Kinect motion-sensor for the Xbox 360, and it's still going strong – between Kinects bundled within consoles and through standalone units, a whopping 750,000 Kinects were sold last week, too.

It's clear that consumers love Black Friday. But I'd be willing to bet that Microsoft loves it even more.

Star Citizen will consist of two main components: first person space combat and trading in a massively multiplayer persistent universe and customizable private servers (known as Star Citizen), and a branching single-player game (known as Squadron 42).
