Dragon Quest VIII Announced for Nintendo 3DS

Dragon Quest VIII will be making its way to Nintendo's handheld in Japan on August 27, Square Enix has announced.

This beloved Japanese role-playing game, which first launched some ten years ago for PlayStation 2, will feature a number of added bonuses for 3DS, which weren't available in the original release. The handheld port will feature StreetPass support, voiceover work, and even new party members.

There's no word on whether or not the game will be making its way to North America or Europe, but if last year's worldwide port for iOS and Android is any indication, it's only a matter of time before 3DS owners in the west have a release date as well.
