Splatoon Will Launch Before Summertime

Nintendo's upcoming ink-based shooter sporting a cast of transforming squid finally has a release month. Splatoon will launch this May, exclusively for Wii U.

For those that don't already know, Splatoon is a multiplayer-focused game (though it also features a single-player element) where teams face off it a battle to cover the map with ink. It's cute, charming, and loads of fun. For more on the family-friendly shooter, check out our preview right here.

Nintendo announced the game's release window during yesterday's Direct broadcast. Be sure to check out all of the other exciting announcements from the presentation, including our thoughts on the New 3DS XL.
