Sony Gives PS4 Owners a Free Retro Dynamic Theme

Sony is giving PS4 owners a free dynamic theme for their console, wishing players a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday with the retro gift.

The new dynamic theme sees the PS4 jumping back to the days of the original PlayStation, with the console’s familiar logo sitting in the middle of a pair of dancing reindeer, all while some sweet Christmas music plays in the background.

It’s a pleasant gift for PS4 owners, allowing them to customize their console’s home screen in order to embrace the festivities of Christmas. Unfortunately, it’s only available to US PS4 owners at the time of this writing, with an email containing a link to download the theme being sent out to those with a PSN ID. If you live in the US, check your email to receive the theme.

The PS4 has had an impressive year, with it being host to a slew of 2017’s very best games, including GameRevolution’s Game of the Year. Its 2018 looks set to be even more impressive, with The Last of Us 2 set to be released next year along with other highly anticipated titles such as God of War, Beyond Good & Evil 2 and more.
