New The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind Trailer Shows Off Gameplay And Vvardenfell

I recently had the chance to learn a whole lot about Bethesda and ZeniMax Studios' upcoming Morrowind chapter of The Elder Scrolls Online. In tandem with the oncoming flood of info surrounding the game, Bethesda has released a new trailer flaunting gameplay, plot narration, and familiar locales players can expect.

Our breakdown of the Morrowind expansion's new features contains a number of screenshots and stills, but seeing the game in motion here is another thing entirely. Notable is the alien-like nature of Vvardenfell; though reigned in slightly to meet the overall ESO aesthetic, I was told by the game's director Matt Firor that the "alien" mood often found in some of Morrowind's more far-flung locales is something the team at ZeniMax very deliberately aimed to recapture. As somebody who played Xenoblade Chronicles X for 200 hours, "alien moods" are a-OK with me.

You can check out our findings in speaking with ZeniMax here, with more on the way via my full interview with Matt Firor. It's clear the ESO team takes Morrowind seriously, so it will be interesting to see how many old-school fans come out of the woodwork to revisit Vvardenfell when the latest chapter releases on June 6th of this year.
