Apex Legends Cheats and Hacks | How to spot cheaters and hackers

Apex Legends has had an incredible first week since it released, even reaching 25 million players this weekend, with a bigger launch than Fortnite. However, with such popularity, Apex Legends hackers are already on their way to breaking the game, with reports of aimbots being used to see other players’ health and location, even through mountains. While Apex Legends cheats and hacks are by no means widespread, and won’t affect players on console, PC players might now find themselves facing off against cheaters in the battle royale. Read on to find out how to spot hackers and cheaters in Apex Legends.

Gamelife reported on Wednesday that a now-unlisted video exhibits the use of aimbot technology in Apex Legends, highlighting enemies at great distances and detailing their current health. As a regular player, there’s no real way to pre-emptively identify a cheater or hacker in Apex Legends. However, if you are repetitively shot from extreme angles or while mostly in cover, you could be facing off against a hacker. As they can use aimbots to target even the smallest parts of your hitbox, you should try to get inside, and avoid using partial cover while they are in the area.

In most scenarios, you may only realize that a player is using cheats or hacks in Apex Legends when they’ve killed you. However, you can still ensure these players are banned or reprimanded for using cheats. Try watching your killer’s feed after you die, and you might see them eliminate other players in similar cases. If this is the case, you can pretty easily report them through the in-game reporting system. However, we would also recommend capturing evidence of them and sending it to Respawn or EA on social media; you’re far more likely to get a response this way.
