The Book of Boba Fett episode 7 was the finale of the Disney Plus series, bringing an end to the titular character’s feud with the Pyke Syndicate. While the feud didn’t see much bloodshed from its main characters, there did seem to be at least one major casualty — Boba Fett appeared to kill Cad Bane. But is the bounty hunter really dead, or is there some small hope that the fearsome gunslinger is still alive?
Did Cad Bane die in The Book of Boba Fett?
Yes, it appears that Cad Bane is really dead in The Book of Boba Fett. Though the character, who previously made a name for himself in The Clone Wars series, only made his live-action debut in episode 6, it seems that his run was short-lived. He’s killed by Boba Fett and that could well mean the last we’ll see of him in live-action form.
While Star Wars has a habit of letting us think that characters are dead before reviving them — see Darth Maul, Palpatine, and even The Book of Boba Fett’s Cobb Vanth — Cad Bane receiving a spear through the mid-section and then seemingly breathing his last breath indicates that he might be gone for good.
However, that still doesn’t mean that he won’t appear in other Star Wars media. There’s a large time period between the events of the Clone Wars and Return of the Jedi where Cad Bane was out bounty hunting, so he could still pop up elsewhere. But those hoping for a Cad Bane spin-off series or something similar may be left waiting.
Those who were taken by Cad Bane’s live-action debut can also watch through The Clone Wars and his appearances there. His death in The Book of Boba Fett is made more poignant considering how many clones he murdered throughout the animated series, with him ultimately succumbing to the first clone modeled after Jango Fett.
