What Are You Playing? February 14, 2019

So many new games are set to launch soon, but there’s still plenty to play in the meantime. The GameRevolution editorial team has been enjoying Apex Legends, Respawn’s latest battle royale blockbuster, along with some major upcoming releases ahead of launch. Let us know the games that you’ve been playing in the comments section below!

Paul Tamburro, executive editor: Apex Legends. I’ve always found the idea of battle royale games to be more fun than the execution, until now. Respawn has done a tremendous job of improving almost every facet of the genre, from its ingenious pinging system through to its lengthier, more action-packed firefights.”

Jason Faulkner, senior editor: “I just finished up Metro Exodus in time for the review. Now, I’ll more than likely go back and finish Far Cry New Dawn. Other than that I’ve been playing Apex Legends on the stream and taking a trip down memory lane with a few N64 and PSX games.”

Mack Ashworth, lead editor: “Still grinding away at Apex Legends. Just got enough currency to buy Caustic, so I’ll be maining him for a bit. With that said, every game ever is set to launch this Friday, so I’ll soon be diving into Anthem, Far Cry, and Crackdown.”

Michael Leri, features editor: “Out of all the games fated to hit on February 15, I chose Far Cry New Dawn so that has been taking up my time. However, now that that is all wrapped up, I’m actually thinking of going back through the Kingdom Hearts series or the Yakuza games. I can’t believe I just said that.”

Bradley Russell, news editor: “I’m playing FIFA 19 and fast losing my patience with it. Ultimate Team has degenerated even further into a pay-to-win format, with EA introducing what I think is the 12th different card type to the game in little over three months. It makes for an extremely unbalanced and unfair experience as those who are willing to spend money on the game are being given overpowered players while the rest of us play catch-up. Boo-urns.
