Overwatch Comic Teases Amazing New Skins For Doomfist, Sombra and Reaper

It’s an exciting time to be following Overwatch. Ever since the announcement and release onto the PTR of the long-awaited Doomfist hero, Overwatch has been a hotbed for announcements, with rumors of an upcoming event that only underscore this unprecedented time.

So, when Overwatch released its first comic since the Doomfist announcement, you knew it was going to be something good. And while the story is, of course, the center stage, the only thing any Overwatch players see is possibilities for new skins that seem just around the corner. The comic issue showed what could be new Doomfist skins, and skins for Reaper and Sombra, and they are something of a revelation for the heroes and for Overwatch as a whole.

Now, it’s hard to really tell exactly who these heroes are just by looking at them, but a deeper reading makes it abundantly clear. Below you’ll find the potential new skins for each hero and an explanation of how we know who they belong to.

Jester Sombra

This Jester Sombra skin is a revelation and would surely make Sombra fans go absolutely bonkers if it was ever released to the public. We know this is Sombra for a few reasons. For one, in the previous frame, Reaper says “Sombra?” implying that the next frame is, in fact, the beloved hacker character.

But the smoking gun is her line in the comic. If you click the image to enlarge, you can see that it clearly says “Apagando Las Luces,” which is what Sombra says upon activating her ultimate. This skin needs to exist.

Victorian Reaper

PirateReaper

It’s hard to really characterize this skin, but he almost looks like a Pirate captain. That said, it also stands to reason that this is just typical Victorian dress. You can see more detail in other images throughout the comic, such as this one, that show the full getup. They are in Venice for some occasion, but I’m still not sure why exactly they’re dressed like this.

Of course, I know I’m probably missing some huge connection and for that I apologize. With the skull mask, this is a bit similar to Reaper’s already-existing Mariachi skin, but different enough to still be exciting.

Victorian Doomfist

DoomfistSkin

It’s real hard to take Doomfist seriously while he’s wearing this stuff, complete with a frilly hat and drape fit for a purple Santa Claus, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t buy 100 loot boxes just for the chance to get my hands on it.

We already have learned from the most recent datamine that originally revealed Doomfist that he his getting four additional cosmetics that will supposedly coincide with the Summer Games event, and I don’t see why this shouldn’t be one of them.
