It took a while, but a sequel to Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor has been announced. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is arriving in just six months, and we already know that it'll be making improvements to the Nemesis system, in addition to making storytelling a bigger part of the experience.
Given the success of Shadow of Mordor, this is a substantial game that could very well end up being a game of the year contender. But first it needs to be great, and in order to achieve that it needs to realize as much of the series' potential as possible.
