Using a Mac computer while also owning an Xbox One means that my only impression of Windows comes from the console, as opposed to an outdated installation of Windows 7, though Microsoft promises Windows 10 will gather all devices under its collective banner.
The Windows 10 operating system will arrive on Xbox One by the end of 2015, though we can expect more details in January with "user convenience" at the heart of Microsoft's efforts. Brandon LeBlanc writes in a blog post that the company is excited to share new details:
On Wednesday, January 21st—we will be holding an event here on Microsoft's Redmond campus where we will talk about the next chapter of Windows 10. You'll hear directly from senior leaders from the Operating Systems Group including Terry Myerson, Joe Belfiore, and Phil Spencer who will talk about the Windows 10 consumer experience—continuing the story we began in September. You'll also hear from our CEO Satya Nadella as well.
We'll have more on this upcoming Xbox One update and details about a livestream as the event draws closer.
