Nintendo to Phase Out Less Popular Amiibo

Gamers hoping to receive the gift of Amiibo this holiday season may want to be extra-specific with their characters, as Nintendo clarified Monday that not all Amiibos will be making a comeback.

Speaking with Gamespot, a Nintendo representative said that the company “will aim for certain Amiibo to always be available. These will be for our most popular characters like Mario and Link. Due to shelf space constraints, other figures likely will not return to the market once they have sold through their initial shipment.”

In other words, if you're looking to build a full collection, you may want to put down Mario and pick up the Wii Fit Trainer before she packs it up and heads to the locker room.
