Spencer on Xbox One’s Lack of Backwards Compatibility: “I Hear You”

There were a ton of amazing games that released during the life of Xbox 360, and many Xbox One gamers would like to be able to play that content on their shiny new console. Head of Xbox Phil Spencer is well aware of this fact, and assures fans he is actively looking for some sort of solution.

"Back compat is always a hot topic at the turn of a generation, and I get why, especially on [Xbox 360] so many people bought so much digital content and it means that a lot of us, we're holding on to our 360s," he said in a podcast interview with The Inner Circle.

"I get the question," he added. "I totally respect the question. There’s nothing I can say about it right now, but I’ll just say 'I hear you.' I definitely hear you and I'll continue to try to work to build something that can help people out."

How important is backwards compatibility to you? Are you still holding onto your Xbox 360 to play last-gen games?
