Nintendo Details New 3DS Themes Featuring Characters and Designs

While I didn't lay claim to this suggestion in our list of 3DS updates we want, I love the option to customize the visual design of Nintendo's 3DS operating system as Japanese gamers will soon have.

Specifically, Nintendo will offer various visually appealing designs and character art to compliment all the menus and icons that you have on your Nintendo 3DS. The top screen will still likely present game icons when you're ready to play something while the bottom screen seems to allow the user even more control over the tile layout.

Depending on the design you pick, tiles may stagger or sit to the side. I'm looking forward to changing my 3DS screen when the ability to choose a theme is added to 3DS hardware in America, though Japanese gamers can expect to make a switch in October.
