Sucker Punch Productions Hit by Layoffs

Sucker Punch Productions, the development studio behind the inFamous series, is losing some of its staffers, as Sony has confirmed that a portion of the team has been laid off.

Sony released the following statement to IGN:

SCEA can confirm a reduction in workforce has taken place at Sucker Punch Productions. Sucker Punch is appreciative of the tremendous work team members contributed to the inFAMOUS and Sly Cooper series, and wishes them the best in their next endeavors.

While this is incredibly unfortunate for those hit by the layoffs, this doesn't mean the studio is in trouble by any means. Now that development on inFamous: First Light has wrapped, it's not surprising that we're seeing a reduction in the staff. Still, our well wishes go out to those who've lost their jobs.
