Electronic Arts and EA Canada will launch their new Ultimate Fighting Championship game next week and EA Sports UFC looks to be the most accurate and brutal MMA simulation ever put to disc.

While we'll have a review of the game later, our friends at Sherdog have early impressions. Here are a few details from Andreas Hale, but make sure to read the full article.

  • "Let us get this out of the way now: 'EA UFC' is absolutely gorgeous and has all of the bells and whistles to make it feel more like an event than a video game."
  • "Rather than feeling tethered to the canvas and gliding back and forth, they walk with a weightiness that matches their stature."
  • "The manner in which cuts and bruises appear on a fighter is jaw-dropping to say the least."
  • "Career mode gets a boost by having your player fight his way through 'The Ultimate Fighter' house before getting his first professional UFC fight. The game will incorporate live-recorded footage from UFC fighters that will advise you throughout your career."
