AbleGamers Partners With Play to Give Back

AbleGamers Charity, an organization focused on developing devices that help disabled individuals play their favorite games, and Play to Give Back have partnered up for a new initiative titled Driving Home Accessibility.

This project aims to enable gamers to overcome their disabilities to attend video game conferences, expos, and shows and get the assistance they need to play video games at home. To do that, AbleGamers built a king-sized vehicle filled with all of their assistive technology, electronics, and video game systems.

They're going to take the AbleGamers van around the country consulting children, adults, and veterans with disabilities to continue spreading awareness and raise more funds to build even more specialized assistive technology.

The project's fundraising efforts will kick off on May 30th with a 12-hour Mario Kart 8 marathon. The group hopes to amass $200,000 which seems like a paltry sum compared to what some game companies spend on press junkets and the like, especially considering that AbleGamers really just want to help more people.

Hopefully the project will be fully funded and finished by October 18th which will be the 2nd annual AbleGamers Day in Washington, DC. For more, check out AbleGamers.com/drive and look our for their Mario Kart 8 stream event on Twitch at Twitch.tv/AbleGamers.
