Pikachu Named Japan’s 2014 World Cup Mascot

The Japanese World Cup soccer team made a — wait for it — shocking announcement this week, revealing that Pikachu would be Team Japan's official mascot at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. They hope to — wait for it — catch his spirit as they shoot, block, and — wait for it — tackle their way to the top. Leer.

Ten other Pokemans will also be supporting the team, including the original starters of Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle, new guys like Chespin, and a bunch of other guys I  — wait for it — can't identify. One is clearly an angry panda. Don't know what that's about.

Not gonna lie though, I would buy a Pokémon soccer game.
