The Xbox Series X console has only been available in black aside from limited edition versions available for a short period of time or through winning competitions, but that may be set to change soon. An advert for the upcoming Logitech Astro A30 headset had a white Xbox Series X console sat in the background and now players are hoping this is a sign of things to come.
Will Microsoft release a white Xbox Series X console?
The white version of the console appeared alongside the PS5 in a new advert for the upcoming Logitech Astro A30 headset. While the model certainly looked pretty convincing, some believe it was merely a standard console wrapped in a white skin to match the aesthetic of the advert. Alternatively, it could just be a bespoke prop created for the advert, which also featured an Xbox Series X|S controller entirely in black with faceless buttons, an effect that can’t even be achieved with Xbox Design Lab. A closeup of the controller does seem to suggest it’s been spray-painted and leads credence to the theories the console was also just a prop. Microsoft has not announced a white Xbox Series X console and has not replied to inquiries about any plans to launch one in the future.
In the meantime, the actual subject of the advert, the Logitech Astro A30 gaming headset, is set to launch next month for $229.99. Available in matt navy or matt white colors, the headset comes with customizable speaker tags and will work with multiple devices, including the ability to stream audio from three sources at once.
In other news, a release window has been revealed for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PC. Elsewhere, Steam Deck production has increased around the world but Canada has been hit with a slight snag.
