She-Hulk Episode 5 Final Scene: Daredevil Helmet Explained

It’s been a long time coming, but She-Hulk: Attorney At Law finally introduced crime-fighting superhero, Matt Murdock, by way of the yellow Daredevil helmet shown in episode 5’s final scene. Viewers may not have actually seen the character in motion, but the hat tip – or helmet tip – towards his inclusion in the near future has a lot of people very excited. Here’s what we know about Daredevil’s return to the MCU…

Does the Daredevil helmet mean Matt Murdock will be in She-Hulk episode 6?

There’s no official confirmation on exactly when Daredevil will make an appearance in She-Hulk. We do know that he has been confirmed to appear in the series at some point, and a recent mid-season trailer from Marvel Studios and Disney Plus pointed to him having a pretty big effect on our titular lawyer. After all of the hype that has been surrounding his inclusion, audiences are expecting him to be involved in a major storyline.

Tatiana Maslany who plays She-Hulk, also teased that there are big stakes at play when Charlie Cox’s superhero arrives on the scene. Speaking to TVLine, she said: “I don’t want to spoil it too much because it was a surprise to me as well and it was so fun to like discover it. I just think that it’s very funny and it’s very… there’s a tension there that’s really interesting and yeah, Charlie was fantastic to play with.”

Why is Daredevil getting a new yellow helmet?

Matt using the same costume designer as Jen may have been a surprise to some, but you only have to look at Daredevil season 3 to potentially find out why he’s looking for some new threads. His original red suit was hijacked by Bullseye, who wore it to inflict as much chaos as possible upon Hell’s Kitchen. The new color palette may be the hero’s way of distancing himself from those crimes.

It could also be that Matt is now choosing to pay homage to his father’s legacy, as the character does in Marvel Comics. Jack Murdock was killed after breaking an agreement to fix his final boxing match, and the colors he wore on his robe to that fight were red and yellow. Picking up those shades for his costume could serve as a constant reminder as to why he fights against corruption.
