With many leaks seemingly revealing unreleased and upcoming characters for the MultiVersus roster, fans are holding out to see their favorites turn up in the free-to-play fighting game. Those hoping for characters like Breaking Bad’s Gustavo Fring or Halo’s Master Chief will be disappointed, though, as MultiVersus is focusing on IPs owned by Warner Bros. Discovery first.
Could some of the MultiVersus “leaked” characters be added to the game?
MultiVersus is intended to be a long-lasting game as a service that has a continuously expanding roster. Warner Bros. Games head David Haddad told Axios that Player First Games’ “attention and focus” for new characters to join the game’s roster will be on WB Discovery’s existing intellectual property. As such, those hoping to see characters from Sony Pictures Television’s Breaking Bad, like Walter White or Gus Fring, Stranger Things’ Eleven, or Microsoft’s Halo will be disappointed as they’re not likely to be included anytime soon.
There are many leaked characters that could be coming to the game according to Dot Esports. The thing you might notice that all of these leaked MultiVersus characters have in common is that they’re based on Warner Bros. IPs. There isn’t a single leaked character that is not based on a Warner Bros. IP. There is a chance that several of these characters may have been scrapped and will no longer be appearing in the game while others may be alternate skins for existing characters. For now, the list includes:
- Beetlejuice
- Ben 10
- Craig of the Creek
- The Joker (DC Comics)
- Nubia (DC Comics)
- Poison Ivy (DC Comics)
- Raven (DC Comics)
- Static Shock (DC Comics)
- Fred Flintstone
- Daenerys Targaryen (Game of Thrones)
- Godzilla – Datamine
- Gizmo (Gremlins)
- Harry Potter
- Ron Weasley (Harry Potter)
- Johnny Bravo
- King Kong
- Emmet (The LEGO Movie)
- Marvin the Martian (Looney Tunes)
- Gandalf (Lord of the Rings)
- Legolas (Lord of the Rings)
- Mad Max
- Neo (The Matrix)
- Scorpion (Mortal Kombat)
- Sub Zero (Mortal Kombat)
- Wicked Witch (The Wizard of Oz)
In other gaming news, a Fortnite x Teen Titan crossover will include a Starfire Skin according to reports. Elsewhere, Embracer has completed the deal to acquire Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, and Square Enix Montreal.
