Destiny 2 is technically a free-to-play game, so some of Season 18 content is free. However, the meat of the Season of Plunder is locked behind the season pass.
What’s free in Destiny 2 Season of Plunder?
Free-to-play users can access these Season 18 features and activities:
- Arc 3.0 Subclass Updates
- Festival of the Lost Event
- King’s Fall Raid (Available August 26)
- Pirate Hideouts
- Seasonal Artifact and Mods
In addition, anyone can get the free season pass rewards and selected gear and armor. Free players also have access to selected challenges.
What’s locked to the Season Pass in Season 18?
In addition to everything mentioned in the free section, those who buy the Season of Plunder season pass get access to:
- All Challenges
- All Seasonal Gear and Armor
- Expedition Activity
- Full Seasonal Reward Track
- Instantly Unlocked Delicate Tomb Exotic
- Ketchcraft Activity
- Seasonal Story Missions
Is the Season of Plunder Pass Worth It?
Destiny 2 Season Passes cost $10. That’s not a ton of money, and if you want to take part in the Season of Plunder’s unique activities, you’ll have to pony up. There’s a big emphasis on Ketchcrash and Expedition activities, and you’ll need a pass to participate. Fortunately, they’re pretty fun to complete and offer decent rewards for a relatively low-time investment.
