Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is still to get a release date window from Respawn and EA despite rumors of early 2023. However, the release timing of two tie-in books announced today has led many to believe the game will be released at a similar time. These include industry insider Jeff Grubb, who has doubled down on that theory.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor does not yet have a release date window. Previous rumors had claimed the game was the “major IP” EA had confirmed would be arriving in Q1 2023. A tie-in novel called Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars will be released on March 7, 2023. According to Grubb, Survivor will be released sometime in March too. We’ll have to wait and see if he turns out to be correct.
Survivor is set five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and players may be left wondering what has happened in that missing period of time. The good news is there’s an official tie-in novel, Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars, that’s set to solve that mystery. Written by Sam Maggs (Call of Duty: Vanguard, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart), the book features Order 66 survivor Cal Kestis as he leads the Mantis crew on an adventure set sometime during the five years that bridge Fallen Order and Survivor. While the novel will add extra lore to the Star Wars Jedi franchise, it will not be necessary to understand the plot of Survivor.
Battle Scars wasn’t the only book to be revealed by Lucasfilm today. There was also The Art of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which is a full-color hardcover book that will “chronicle the development of the game, collecting concept art and creator commentary.” This is set to be released on May 2, 2023.
In other news, the MultiVersus Founder’s Packs have helped it to become the best-selling video game in the US for July 2022. Elsewhere, SEGA has announced there are Comix Zone and Space Channel 5 movies in the works.
